2. Environmental standards

ITApps sees the frightening change to our environment as the number one challenge facing all leaders and organisations today, as such we are committed to doing all we can to minimise our impact on the environment by:

  • ITApps has an environmental policy.
  • The Director - Corporate Finance & Affairs is designated as being responsible for implementing the policy and championing environmental issues.
  • There is a regular environmental policy review process in place that aims to continually improve environmental performance.
The key points of its strategy to achieve this are:
  • Minimize waste by evaluating operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible.
  • Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its customers and suppliers.
  • Source and promote a product range to minimise the environmental impact of both production and distribution – When handling dangerous products, we strictly observe the laws and regulations as well as the environmental guidelines of the HKSAR Government. Only products measured up to the standards will be imported and sold.
  • Use an accredited program to offset the greenhouse gas emissions generated by our activities.
  • There is a culture of reducing physical waste wherever practically possible – Since paper is the most significant waste, recycle boxes, procedures of paper recycling and paperless system are installed. As a result, the volume of paper being recycled is clearly documented and the effectiveness of paper recycling can be ensured.
  • Waste items are reused or recycled in preference to disposal – for example, our IT department supports the Computer Recycling Program by regularly donates the old computers to NGOs for reuse or recycling. And we use the company with certified EMS to collect and disposal the wastes products.
  • Effective controls of ground, air and water pollution are adopted.
  • There is a culture of reducing resource consumption wherever practically possible.
  • Baselines are established for the consumption of water, electricity and business miles.
  • There are regular reviews of resource consumption data to monitor usage.
  • Where practically possible, investment is made in water and energy efficient technology.
  • Recycled products are preferentially purchased wherever possible.
  • Renewable energy is supported where practically possible.
  • All potentially negative impacts on the environment caused by the day-to-day practices of the company have been identified.
  • There is a regularly reviewed management system that aims to reduce any significant negative impacts on the environment.

3. Ethical Standards

At the very core of the ITApps brand is the need for integrity so we believe passionately in maintaining sound ethics.

  • ITApps has an ethical policy that includes the minimum standards expected of suppliers.
  • ITApps’s overall ethical approach to business is based on the simple principle that we will strive to conduct all our dealings with fairness, integrity and professionalism.
  • ITApps takes its responsibilities seriously and this is demonstrated by our business culture, relations with suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • ITApps takes an informed and proactive approach to environmental management. We see the improvement of operational environmental management as a continuing process and will strive to improve our management of energy, pollution, resources and waste issues on an ongoing basis. We are sensitive to stakeholder expectations with regards to the environmental effects of our operations. We aim to predict and move ahead of expectations and trends, therefore providing greater confidence in and effectiveness for our environmental management.
  • ITApps takes all reasonable, practicable steps to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of its employees, temporary staff, and visitors to its premises.
  • ITApps’s success depends on the professionalism of all of its employees – in their external dealings and in how they conduct themselves in relation to other employees.
  • The working culture at ITApps must support the opportunity for all employees to make the fullest contribution they can.
  • This requires everyone within ITApps to work alongside others in a way that reflects integrity, honesty, trust, fairness, mutual respect, concern for others and maturity.
  • We can only give our best if we are an organisation that demonstrates diversity, and if we make an effort to understand and get on well with our colleagues.
  • We work in a shared environment and we rely on each other to keep our own space and shared areas clean and tidy.
  • Everything we do must be focused on delivering the highest quality and service to our stakeholders.
  • We will consider that a complaint represents an opportunity for improvement and we will deal with each one positively, openly and in reasonable time.
  • We will offer equal levels of service to our customers, and partiality or discrimination of any kind is unacceptable. Should a member of staff feel that they may have a conflict of interest, or hold personal views that may affect their work they must draw this to the attention of their line manager and discuss the most appropriate course of action.
  • We will respect the contractual confidentiality between ourselves and our customers.
The principles of integrity and honesty should apply to all financial dealings and transactions.

  • We all share responsibility for preventing crime at work. If an individual becomes aware that a crime is planned or may have been committed, it is that person’s responsibility to advise the appropriate authority. If in doubt, speak to line manager first. Never put own safety at risk. As an employer, ITApps will always comply with its statutory obligations. Where the policies and principles expressed in this document exceed the statutory requirement the company can, in its absolute discretion, vary, alter or cease any of these policies at any time giving due notice.
